Architectural Technician (Planning & Building Regulations)

Draw Plans – Remote / Hybrid

Draw Plans is a high-volume architectural practice specialising in residential extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments, and listed building projects across London and the South East.

​

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Architectural Technician to join our production team preparing Planning and Building Regulations drawing packages.

​

We have a consistent and increasing weekly workflow and are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

​

This is a production-focused role suited to someone who is efficient, technically strong, and comfortable working across multiple live residential projects.

​

Role Overview

You will be responsible for preparing clear, accurate drawing packages including:

  • Existing and proposed planning drawings

  • Building Regulations drawing packages

  • Technical construction details

  • Revisions and client amendments

  • Liaison with our internal team regarding project progress

​

All projects are existing residential properties including extensions, loft conversions, internal alterations, and refurbishments.

​

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years UK residential experience

  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations

  • Excellent AutoCAD ability

  • Experience producing Planning and Building Regulations packages

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines

  • Good communication and organisation

Preferred:

  • Experience working remotely

  • Experience with London borough planning requirements

  • Experience with loft conversions and extensions

  • Measured survey experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Working Arrangement

  • Remote or hybrid working available

  • Flexible working structure

  • Full-time, part-time, or freelance considered
