Architectural Technician (Planning & Building Regulations)

Draw Plans – Remote / Hybrid

Draw Plans is a high-volume architectural practice specialising in residential extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments, and listed building projects across London and the South East.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Architectural Technician to join our production team preparing Planning and Building Regulations drawing packages.

We have a consistent and increasing weekly workflow and are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

This is a production-focused role suited to someone who is efficient, technically strong, and comfortable working across multiple live residential projects.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for preparing clear, accurate drawing packages including:

Existing and proposed planning drawings
Building Regulations drawing packages
Technical construction details
Revisions and client amendments
Liaison with our internal team regarding project progress

All projects are existing residential properties including extensions, loft conversions, internal alterations, and refurbishments.

Requirements

Essential:

Minimum 3 years UK residential experience
Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations
Excellent AutoCAD ability
Experience producing Planning and Building Regulations packages
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
Good communication and organisation

Preferred:

Experience working remotely
Experience with London borough planning requirements
Experience with loft conversions and extensions
Measured survey experience would be beneficial but is not essential

Working Arrangement

Remote or hybrid working available
Flexible working structure
Full-time, part-time, or freelance considered
